A.G.(Sandy) Rhind, President

After a career at BMO Nesbitt Burns marked by several leadership roles in investment banking, Sandy founded Alexander Capital in 2005 in response to a growing need for unbiased, independent investment banking advice. A seasoned negotiator, Sandy has initiated and shaped several high profile corporate finance and M&A transactions on both sides of the Atlantic. He has also introduced several innovations into the capital markets including corporate strip bonds, equity split shares, instalment receipts, debt indexed to stock market returns, and stapled shares (predecessor to the Income Trust). His vision for Alexander Capital is to be first call for corporate leaders seeking discreet and actionable M&A and corporate finance advice delivered by seasoned experts.

Sandy is a P. Eng. with a degree from Queen's University in Mechanical Engineering and holds an MBA in Finance from University of Connecticut.

W. J. Blair Agnew, MA, CA

 Blair is a senior finance professional with over 25 years’ experience working in internationally recognized firms, Ernst & Young and BMO Capital Markets.  He has extensive experience of executing public and private equity financings and advising boards of directors on public and private mergers & acquisitions transactions.  During a 14 year career at BMO Capital Markets, Blair spent five years as a Managing Director in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group and, before that, four years as a Vice President in the Communications & Technology Group.

 

Blair obtained his Master of Arts, Economics & Accountancy (with Distinction) from the University of Dundee, Scotland and he is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.

Donald H. Christie, C.A,

Don has 28 years of experience in Canada's institutional debt and equity markets. Prior to the establishment of a structured debt consulting practice in 2001 and joining Alexander Capital, Mr. Christie served as Senior Vice President and Director of Newcourt Credit, Canada's largest non-bank financial institution. Here he was involved in the origination of structured debt and equity financings ranging in size from $20 million to $425 million and the syndication of approximately $1.5 billion of private debt to both Canadian and U.S. life insurance companies and pension funds. Transactions included both the debt and equity tranches of cross-border leveraged leases, project financing, credit-tenant leases, corporate recapitalizations, and off balance sheet financing.

Don has an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen's University and received his chartered accountant designation in 1981 while working for PriceWaterhouse Coopers.
